Abstract

This study aims to examine how the lack of technological access in the digital age has negative effects on academic achievement and learning motivation, especially in students with low socioeconomic status. In the study, which was carried out with a mixed method approach, the data obtained through a survey study and additional qualitative interviews for 300 students were analyzed. The results show that grade point averages and motivation scores are significantly lower in groups with insufficient technological access. This situation reveals that the digital divide leads to inequality of opportunity in education and hinders social development in the long run.
