This study aims to examine middle school students' experiences of changing classes and the effects of this experience on their academic achievement. Using the qualitative research method, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 students and 10 teachers. As a result of the analysis of the data, six main themes emerged: emotional experiences, academic influence, social relationships, adaptation process, personal development, and classroom dynamics. The findings reveal that changing classes has multidimensional effects on students and these effects may differ in the short and long term. The study emphasizes the importance of support to be provided to students during the class change process and provides suggestions for future research.
